When you get your drink, a unique QR barcode on the cup can be scanned with your smart phone, and you are instantly taken into a selected brands website, where you can choose to share your information or ‘blog’ about your experience on Twitter or Facebook.The 21st century consumer is now truly engaged with ‘ipad’, ‘tablet’ and ‘touchscreen’ technology and now the household brands can engage with these technology savvy consumers – on-line media is the newest method of communicating with consumers, and to do that at the point of purchase, is an obvious advantage to promote new products, brands and promotions to encourage instant conversion to purchase.
